How many hours can you really work per day?

As a virtual assistant, you likely want to do as much as you can in a day to increase your income.  But realistically, you need to know what is possible for you to work.  Just because you are awake for 16 hours a day does not mean that you can be working for every minute of it.

When determining how many hours a day you have to work as well as how many clients you can realistically take on, there are some things you need to consider:

Family Commitments – If you have a family, you need to consider how much time they will take from your day.  This includes activities that they may have, time you want to spend with them as well as time for meals and getting ready for bed.  If you have a pet, they require some of your time as well.

Household Activities – Chances are you do not have a self-cleaning home, so you have to schedule in time for keeping up with the house.  You also need time for outdoor activities such as cutting grass or cleaning out the eaves.

Appointments – There are times that you are going to have to leave the home for various appointments.  While these do not happen every week, you do need some flexibility in your schedule so that you can still get all your work done even when you have to take a few hours off for appointments.

Keep in mind that life will happen and that things will pop up that you cannot really plan for, so it is a good idea to keep some time free to keep you on schedule.
