Good plans shape good decisions…

“Good plans shape good decisions. That’s why good planning helps to make elusive dreams come true.”Lester Robert Bittel

When you make solid plans for your Virtual Assistant Business, and follow those plans, you can’t help but be a success. Going out into the wild to go camping without a plan and appropriate tools would seem downright ridiculous to most moms, but that is exactly what many moms do when they start a business.

It is especially easy to fly blind when starting a online business or a Virtual Assistant Business because the start up cost is so low – it’s not like you have a lot to lose. This is the wrong attitude to take about your Virtual Assistant Business.

Instead, think of all the things you could gain by being successful. Make a list for yourself, this is mine.

  • Being your own boss
  • Pay for your children’s college education
  • Buy a house
  • Pay off bills
  • Buy a new car
  • Go on a Vacation
  • Spoil your grandchildren
  • Get a Tummy Tuck
  • Have flexible hours
  • Use my education

This is what you will lose if you do not go into this business with a plan. Not just any plan but a “good plan”. What is a good plan?

A good plan lays out exactly what you want to achieve along with the tools and the steps that you need to take to get there.

When you are camping, if you don’t have a tent, you might get wet. If you don’t have matches, you might get cold. If you have all the right tools, but no knowledge of how to use them, you’re still in trouble. Before going camping you need to be educated on how to survive in the wilderness, or take someone with you who can teach you.

You can have a tent all day long – but if you don’t know how to set it up, you’re still going to be all wet. If you don’t know the proper way to start a fire, you might freeze, or you might burn down the forest.

You don’t want to do that, you want your trip (life) to be successful, so make your plans, figure out what your goals are, what tools you need, and then get the education that you need to reach your goals. Then get cracking.
